halloween spooktacular

This evening was a much-anticipated Halloween Spooktacular party at Playtown Café, an awesome indoor playground that we love to go to whenever we have the chance. What made the already exciting event even cooler was that Ethan won a costume contest on their Facebook and we won free passes to the spooky and fun event! Go Ethan! After a busy and stressful few days, I was really looking forward to decking Ethan out in his Risky Business costume and having a blast to celebrate Halloween. We love Playtown Café for a whole bunch of reasons, but one being that it's clean. No, really. It's always practically sparkling. I've even witnessed with my own two eyes one of the sweet employees cleaning the balls in the ball pit by hand, one by one. The staff is as awesome as the place is spotless and sanitary. It's like they rounded up a group of the most kid-friendly, sweet, fun people on the planet and hired them on the spot. Oh, and the food! No greasy, gross processed pizza slices on this menu. We're talking avocado wraps, a Mediterranean plate with Babaganoush and hummus, sun butter sandwiches and everything in between. (They also have these incredible frozen coffee drinks that make this mommy's day, I'm just sayin'!) Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that a trip to Playtown Café on the regular is exciting enough on it's own, so a chance to attend the Spooktacular was really, really, really exciting.

They had a broom fixed to what I'm assuming was a Roomba and it traveled across the room. Ethan was entranced by this mysteriously spooky traveling broom! He decorated cookies, he ate grilled cheese and veggie straws, he even ate a cup of delicious vanilla ice-cream. He admired costumes, he had his costume admired, he slid down the slide, he made a Halloween craft, he danced to Monster Mash. He played his little heart out until he was so tired I thought he'd fall asleep standing up. We made so many new and wonderful memories. He had a blast. We laughed the whole car ride home.

It was a truly wonderful evening. I've been having a hard time climbing out from under unnecessary piles of stress to truly welcome the rapidly approaching Halloween festivities but, oh, now I'm there. Thank you so much for everything, Playtown Café! My little Tom Cruise and I had an absolute blast!

Playtown Café is located in the Boca Greens Shopping Center at 19575 South State Road 7 in Boca Raton, Florida. You can also reach the facility at (561) 852-2150 or by visiting playtowncafe.com.

    1. Thank you!!! My only lament with it is that it's WHITE -- white socks, white shirt, white diaper -- which doesn't mesh well with a toddler boy! Haha.
