in honor of ethan's first birthday cards

Much to my dismay -- and as much as I truly do hate to admit it -- I'm not a crafty person. I want to be. In my head I am, but then reality is pretty harsh in reminding me that I'm not. When I saw some of these fabulous "cards on a ring" tutorials begin to pop up, I knew (or at least hoped) it would be something I could handle. More than anything, it was a miraculous solution for the absurd amount of cards that I'm notorious for hoarding. First up were Ethan's first birthday cards. There was no way I could part with them. After all, he only turns one once -- which is apparent by the fact I'm currently in the throws of planning his second birthday. The cards were sitting in a plastic bucket atop my bookshelf in Ethan's tot school classroom begging to actually be displayed rather than just hung onto and this was the perfect solution.

Plus, all you need are some cards, a hole puncher and a binder ring. That I can handle.

I ended up hanging the ring up on the wall underneath Ethan's art display in his tot school classroom, with the intent to do the same for his upcoming (okay, it's in four months from now but you guys! He's not a baby anymore!) birthday cards as well.

  2. I did this with the cards we recieved for A's baby shower and right after he was born. Such a neat way to preserve all the kind words people sent us!

  3. I love this idea. I have boxes of greeting cards, this would be a great way to preserve them.
