We've been trudging along. The past two days have been rough at best, the kind comprised of less than four hours of sleep and a toddler with rosy cheeks and a chest rattle that just won't quit. This afternoon saw us at an urgent care center, trying to figure out why these random lows always occur on the weekends or evenings or times when the pediatrician's office is closed. Another prescription to be filled, another glimmer of hope that this is it, that we're closing in on the end of this brutal bout of respiratory chaos that has been plaguing my sweet boy. It's hard to revel in the hope when your eyes burn as if there are a million tiny needles being stuck in them repeatedly but eventually you find it, if not because you just need to rely on that hope. Despite last night perhaps being the lowest point in our full week of illness, this morning wasn't all that bad. This morning was rather nice. We had our family pictures taken today at the park in my parent's neighborhood. It's an annual ritual for us: my dad takes our pictures and I take pictures for my mom, dad and sister. I was worried about our portraits being obliterated by the drone of the nebulizer and an underwhelmed Ethan but it ended up working out surprisingly well. I think our holiday card this year just might be my favorite one yet. Ethan looked dapper in his clip-on dog tie (he enthusiastically picked this shirt out as we were browsing Old Navy one morning) and I have the best hair stylist on the planet so I was transformed into a human again with a presentable head of hair this morning prior to our picture day at the park. It's a Christmas miracle.
See, I'm protective over our holiday card each year. You know, as in they're top secret until everyone receives them in the mail. So while I refuse to show you the pictures that actually made our cards, here are some of the ones that just plain didn't. After all, the outtakes are probably way more fun, anyway.
hahaha....adorable.....your hair looks perfect!
ReplyDeleteand I love that your sister is holding her cell phone! hahahaha
HAHAHA, that phone NEVER leaves her hand and she's only had it a few days. OH MY GOSH. I'm ready to throw it out a window!
DeleteDear Lindsey. I thinking of you and Ethan's health and hoping the best of for you all - especially during the Holiday Season. Your photos are fantastic!
ReplyDeletexo - Monica (PS - I have a Tiny Prints giveaway going on right now in case you need to order photo cards!)
Thank you SO much, Monica! We didn't get to have Thanksgiving last year because he was so sick with the RSV that started all of this, so I'm so neurotic and emotional about having a real holiday season this year!
DeleteI LOVE Tiny Prints! I ordered everything with them around my wedding time!
The outtakes are wonderful and look like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you! The outtakes are always my favorite part. Maybe one year I'll send the silliest one out on our card! haha.
DeleteI am glad little man is starting to feel a bit better. the pictures look fantastic and i love ethan's tie!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm hoping by Wednesday or so he'll be back to 100%. He's getting better by the minute now, thank goodness. You should come to the character breakfast at the JCC this Friday! Elmo, Mickey, Minnie and Cookie Monster will be there!
DeleteLindsey your pictures are fabulous! I am envious.
ReplyDeleteI hope and pray that your little guy is blessed with good health soon.
P.s. I am so thankful I found your blog. Ethan is the same age as my twins and your weekly eats and toddler school help us through many ruts. Keep up the inspiring work!
Thank you so much! My dad has been taking our pictures and vice versa for the past 5 or so years now. It's become a chaotic little family tradition! ;)
DeleteAwww, thanks! Your little ones are so cute -- I LOVE the hats you made! How talented are you?!?!?!
It's so hard when our little ones are sick - hope that Ethan is back to full health soon. He is so handsome - love the little tie!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! As of today, I'd say he's a good 90% better! He picked out his little shirt and dog tie (he's OBSESSED with dogs!) while we were browsing at Old Navy, haha. He has good taste!
DeleteI hope Ethan is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are SO beautiful, Lindsay! Ethan's little outfit (the TIE) make me smile!
And YOU look so pretty! Your happiness is seriously shining so bright through these pictures!
