bioarmor phone case review & giveaway

I hate being sick. I feel like Ethan and I are always sick, especially during these winter months. Tonight at dinner my husband remarked it had actually been two whole weeks since Ethan was sick and I realized how truly crazy that was, judging our health on a week-by-week basis. Cue the incessant guilt that my poor child inherited my ridiculously bad immune system. I like to think that I'm pretty cautious when it comes to hand washing and sanitizing. Even Ethan knows the protocol when we first enter a store: wipe down the cart with the sanitizing wipes before anything else. But there are so many things that I never stop to think of, things that seem impossible to keep tabs on.

For example: your cell phone. Did you know that right now there could be as many as 2,202,060 microbes currently living on it? It's true. I think of all of the times I lay my phone down on the counter at Starbucks, the grocery store. Just the other day the woman cutting the grass at my parent's house asked to use my phone and, right before that, I laid it down on a shelf at Target to get a better look at some cute pajamas for Ethan and shuddered as the woman shopping next to me was sneezing and coughing as she shopped. I'm good at remembering to wash our hands, to wipe things down with sanitizing wipes, but what about our phones? And we put them right up to our face. Gross.

When BioArmor contacted me about reviewing one of their antimicrobial phone cases, I couldn't jump on board fast enough. At the time I received their e-mail, Ethan had just finished a hospital visit and was so super sick. The only downside was BioArmor is currently only available for iPhone5/5s or Galaxy S4 and I only have an iPhone 4. However, everyone else in my family has an iPhone5 and our family vacation seemed like a perfect time to check out the BioArmor phone case and let everyone in my family help with the review process. (It worked out, especially because my mother is probably a bigger germophobe than me.)

BioArmor cases come in four colors: white, black, aqua and pink. 10% of all proceeds of the pink case go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, of which BioArmor is an official partner. The thing I was most worried about was how thin these cases looked online. When our case arrived (we chose aqua!), I was impressed by how sturdy the case actually was. It was just barely able to bend, and that was using all of my strength to make it do so. These cases truly are impact resistant.

Of course, the main feature of the BioArmor case is the fact that it is antimicrobial. Remember when I mentioned the 2,202,060 microbes that could potentially be on your phone right now? Mobile phones, on average, have about 25,127 microbes per square inch. To put it into perspective, a toilet seat only has 49. BioArmor cases reduce the microbes on your phone by 99.7%. Impressive, right?

So how does it work? BioArmor phone cases use silver-ion technology during the time of manufacture. Once these properties are added, the antimicrobial additives provide continuous protection for the lifetime of the product. With the silver ion technology, BioArmor cases prevent the spreading and growth of microbes on your phone case. I personally love how with this technology, growth and spreading of the microbes is shut down for the products lifetime. It's nice to have that protection that doesn't wash or fade away with time, and makes the $29.99 price tag on these cases even more reasonable!

Want To Buy? These phone cases would make some pretty sweet gifts for that person in your life who wants to keep the sniffles at bay (I can't be the only one?). They can be purchased here!

Want To Win? BioArmor has graciously offered one of my readers the chance to win a phone case of their choice! Best of luck!
