Father's Day Special: My Dad & A Father's Day Deluxe Giveaway! - Closed

I love my dad. He's a pretty cool dad and I grew up pretty spoiled because he was also a work-from-home dad. Save for when he was traveling on some exciting adventures abroad, I got to spend a lot of time with my dad -- something I'll forever be thankful for. It's thanks to him that I inherited my insane love for nature, wildlife and animals (especially cats. My dad is a pretty great grandfather to our four fur-children, please believe!). In just a few weeks, my dad will become a grandfather for the first time and I'm already so excited for Ethan to meet the man who will undoubtedly make his childhood as exciting as he made mine! Not many dads come home from fishing trips with fresh caught fish for your cats. Not many dads perform a full length hip-hop dance routine on stage at your little sister's dance recital. Not many dads wake up at 8 a.m. on weekends to take you on a drive through the Everglades to witness the wildlife and learn about the different types of birds and animals. I'm proud to say that my dad, however, is one of those dads.

My dad also has a pretty cool job. In addition to being editor-at-large for Saltwater Sportsman magazine and producer and host of the Saltwater Sportsman National Seminar Series (which just wrapped up it's 24th consecutive year), my dad is also the producer and host of the television show George Poveromo's World Of Saltwater Fishing. George Poveromo's World Of Saltwater Fishing ran for 10 seasons on ESPN2 and has currently switched to the Versus network for it's 11th season. His television show may not have been my favorite thing in 8th grade when the boys I had crushes on would speak to me only to ask for one of my dad's t-shirts or his autograph...but now that I'm all grown-up, I can admit it's pretty cool when you attend seminars where hundreds of people attend to watch your dad speak.

No matter how busy he was, he was never too busy to take us fishing. And you better believe he already bought little Ethan -- even though he's not due until July 7th -- his own baby fishing rod and a slew of baby fishing hats. There's no doubt in my mind that my dad will also be one heck of a grandpa in just a few weeks!
