all the trees of the field will clap their hands

Vacation time has come to an end. Actually, it came to an end over two days ago. Everyday life has returned to it's busy, frantic, on-the-go ways and as good as it feels to be back home and slowly falling back into our daily routine, I wouldn't turn down another opportunity to get back to the lake to relax.

I would also like to point out that Ethan was an all-star traveler this past trip. Alright, so maybe a three hour drive in the car can't compare to some of the cross-country roadtrips babies half Ethan's age have gone on, but this is the kid that would scream so hard on a three minute car ride to the grocery store that he'd end up covered in vomit and I'd have to travel with 3-4 spare sets of clothes. Five months ago, I never thought I'd see the day I reflected upon a road trip with Ethan and called it relaxing.

The above photograph was taken on our drive up. I was continually snapping a photo over my shoulder to check if he was asleep yet and he caught me, letting out this big giggle and smile. In addition to early morning blackberry picking, the days were filled with family, sunshine, friends, nature and Ethan's very first boat ride.
